Treehouse summary

Family wood cabin in nature reserve France - big skies, big space.

Perched on the hill with fabulous views on the natural landscape of the Perche natural regional park, Perché dans le Perche hilltop house is made of wood and insulated with locally grown hemp. A wood burning stove keeps you warm in winter and the fully equipped kitchen allows to make delicious food from local produce.   The perfect place to slow down and enjoy the beautiful views in this 25 acre nature reserve.

Treehouse description

The hilltop house nestles into the steep hill and the spacious terrace soars out towards it's very own view over the hills and beyond.  From inside and out you can enjoy the presence of an enormous 300 year old chestnut tree which is registered as a "remarkable tree of France".  Watch the birds settle in it's branches and in October you can help yourselves to kilos of huge, tasty chestnuts.

Very comfortable in all seasons, secluded and self sufficient it feels like a new home from home. Perched on the edge of a vast natural meadow next to the forest, the hilltop house has it's own space within the 10 hectares of nature reserve that surround it.

Visitors can experience living with the varied and abundant wildlife all around; a rich variety of flora and fauna with many species of birds and insects (including praying mantis), soaring buzzards and hawks, wild boar, deer, badgers, foxes and more.  An amazing space for birdwatching, star gazing, walking and nature watching.

How to get there

Easy to find using maps, we are 2kms from the village of Bellou-le-Trichard

At the end of our track there is a water tower, the track is 800m long and arrives at a carpark at the top of the property.  Access to the hilltop house is on foot over the meadow.

About the area

Aside from lounging around in or outside terraces while taking in the majestic views of the countryside, you can go hiking and check out various types of flora and fauna which the Perche is famous for, watch any of the 180 kinds of birds found in the area, and spot some rare animals here and there. This place will really get you closer to nature and remind you of what a beautiful planet we’ve got.

A new and delicious restaurant is 12 minutes walk (2 minutes by car) at the weekends.  Local markets and shops have a great selection of local produce, much of it organic.  The Perche has much to offer culturally in its small towns, art galleries, antiques, restaurants, concerts ...
