- Stunning tree house on the Algarve
- Overlooking a mountain stream
- Beautiful Portuguese farm house
- Built in a 100 year old walnut tree
Built in a 100-year-old walnut tree overlooking a clear mountain stream, this is an experience hard to forget. The tree house is part of the accommodation available at the farm that includes a farmhouse and yurt accommodation. The tree house is built into a 100-year-old walnut tree and provides fantastic views of the valley.
The managers have spent the last six years restoring the farmhouse and surrounding area based on ecological principles. This provides guests a back-to-nature experience without skimping on luxuries. The house is solar powered and water is sourced from local streams.
The tree house is designed to look natural and it is equipped with a hot shower, eco- toilet, and a mini kitchen.
There is a natural swimming lake on the farm and it’s a perfect base for birdwatching, star gazing, mountain biking and hiking in the Monchique hills. The west coast beaches are famous for their surfing potential and the area is also good for kitesurfing. Alternatively, the gentle pursuits of birdwatching, painting and relaxing in a beautiful natural environment. The night sky here is particularly stunning and star gazers will be close to star heaven.
The tree house is located in a secluded valley just 8 minutes from Aljezur and 15 minutes from the beaches of Arrifana, Monte Clerigo, and Amoreira. Faro Airport is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes away.

The tree house is such a wonderful place to stay. It is an incredible experience, from the mini kitchen downstairs, to the river shower, to the climb up into the bedroom. The cat and chickens were also a lovely surprise! There are some great views and it's such a peaceful retreat. Richard was also very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a getaway.

Disconnect from the big city vibe
This was the first stop on our trip to Portugal and we had a wonderful start surrounded by beautiful nature and friendly animals! It was so much easier that way to disconnect from the big city vibe we are coming from. Thanks for making the check in and out so easy and thank you for the nice little talks we had! Would love to come back some day!

Escape from the daily routine
Awesome treehouse, perfect if you need an escape from the daily routine and charge batteries. You have exactly what you need and nothing more. No cell no WiFi, just nature and relax. Truly recommended if you are in need of these things. The location was great, close to various wonderful beaches. Although, be advised the route to the treehouse is a bumpy one, but our fiat panda took care of the job. Thank you very much!

This house was not up to par Show originalShow original
A shame We have stayed in other tree houses (in Expaña) and this house was not up to the standard neither in the cleanliness nor in the quality of what is offered. I do not doubt the good intention of the owner but in our case apart from a short message saying that the road was somewhat complicated (it was much more complicated with a small car) we found a house whose kitchen and bathroom were in the tree house but on the ground. The cabin, a couple of meters from the ground, is difficult to access and consists of a round bed with a canopy and 3 windows (two of them with glass) only with a plank to cover it. The kitchen was poor in cleanliness and the fridge (the one we usually use on the white and blue beach) was dirty. The shower is a hose whose water does not heat up unless it is in the sun. and on the roof of the hut there were cobwebs. There is no coverage on the site (it is not a problem but it is good to know it before going down with the car) We understand the concept of the adventure that is sold there is a difference between a tree house at that amount at night and sleeping practically in the open since the cabin is not insulated to the cold. For us it was a disappointment and we believe that with a little more care and creating the right expectations it could be a very beautiful place. We marched two hours after arriving, notifying the owner of a family emergency and we never got a response. In our case we would not repeat the experience.

Hi Javier, I can't accept what you say in your review. The reason is that I read the other reviews. What I have found is that the treehouse experience accurately reflects what kind of person you are. This is a tree house, not a tree house.

The location is difficult to reach over a bumpy path, not recommended for an inexperienced driver, but the nature in the valley is very beautiful. Your phone is out of range and we didn't see the owner which made the place feel eerie. There is no shower but a garden hose with dirty brown water. There was 1 bottle of old water to drink. The bed is bad and dirty too. Off the grid is nice but this felt like a poorly maintained abandoned place. No love for the place and no personal touch. The 'swimming lake' had practically dried up. We left earlier and I certainly do not recommend this place. It felt very uncomfortable.
I am sorry to hear that your stay was not what you wished for. We have had many guests at the Treehouse, where people loved and absolutely loved the uniqueness of the country. A place we love and cherish every day! And a beautiful new Tree deck has even been made.
In my opinion, the way the tree house is experienced says a lot about the person themselves. And how you want to experience our place, what you want to see.
An example: the water we gave you is not old, it is a bottle that we refill so as not to waste plastic with water from the spring in the mountains around it. The best water you can have :)
