Disconnect from the big city vibe

This was the first stop on our trip to Portugal and we had a wonderful start surrounded by beautiful nature and friendly animals! It was so much easier that way to disconnect from the big city vibe we are coming from. Thanks for making the check in and out so easy and thank you for the nice little talks we had! Would love to come back some day!

    Weird

The location is difficult to reach over a bumpy path, not recommended for an inexperienced driver, but the nature in the valley is very beautiful. Your phone is out of range and we didn't see the owner which made the place feel eerie. There is no shower but a garden hose with dirty brown water. There was 1 bottle of old water to drink. The bed is bad and dirty too. Off the grid is nice but this felt like a poorly maintained abandoned place. No love for the place and no personal touch. The 'swimming lake' had practically dried up. We left earlier and I certainly do not recommend this place. It felt very uncomfortable.

    Hi Doreen,

I am sorry to hear that your stay was not what you wished for. We have had many guests at the Treehouse, where people loved and absolutely loved the uniqueness of the country. A place we love and cherish every day! And a beautiful new Tree deck has even been made.

In my opinion, the way the tree house is experienced says a lot about the person themselves. And how you want to experience our place, what you want to see.

An example: the water we gave you is not old, it is a bottle that we refill so as not to waste plastic with water from the spring in the mountains around it. The best water you can have :)

    Escape from the daily routine

Awesome treehouse, perfect if you need an escape from the daily routine and charge batteries. You have exactly what you need and nothing more. No cell no WiFi, just nature and relax. Truly recommended if you are in need of these things. The location was great, close to various wonderful beaches. Although, be advised the route to the treehouse is a bumpy one, but our fiat panda took care of the job. Thank you very much!

    Incredible experience

The tree house is such a wonderful place to stay. It is an incredible experience, from the mini kitchen downstairs, to the river shower, to the climb up into the bedroom. The cat and chickens were also a lovely surprise! There are some great views and it's such a peaceful retreat. Richard was also very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a getaway.

This house was not up to par Show original

A shame We have stayed in other tree houses (in Expaña) and this house was not up to the standard neither in the cleanliness nor in the quality of what is offered. I do not doubt the good intention of the owner but in our case apart from a short message saying that the road was somewhat complicated (it was much more complicated with a small car) we found a house whose kitchen and bathroom were in the tree house but on the ground. The cabin, a couple of meters from the ground, is difficult to access and consists of a round bed with a canopy and 3 windows (two of them with glass) only with a plank to cover it. The kitchen was poor in cleanliness and the fridge (the one we usually use on the white and blue beach) was dirty. The shower is a hose whose water does not heat up unless it is in the sun. and on the roof of the hut there were cobwebs. There is no coverage on the site (it is not a problem but it is good to know it before going down with the car) We understand the concept of the adventure that is sold there is a difference between a tree house at that amount at night and sleeping practically in the open since the cabin is not insulated to the cold. For us it was a disappointment and we believe that with a little more care and creating the right expectations it could be a very beautiful place. We marched two hours after arriving, notifying the owner of a family emergency and we never got a response. In our case we would not repeat the experience.

    Host Richard's Response
Hi Javier, I can't accept what you say in your review. The reason is that I read the other reviews. What I have found is that the treehouse experience accurately reflects what kind of person you are. This is a tree house, not a tree house.
