General questions

  • How do I find a Treehouse with BookaTreehouse.com?

    Searching for Treehouses using the search bar

     

    1. Go to BookaTreehouse.com
    2. Enter the name of your destination (city, province/state or country).
    3. Enter your date of arrival and departure. If you don’t have exact dates, please estimate.
    4. Enter the number of people that you will be traveling with.
    5. Click Search.
    6. You will see the results in a List view, but you can also switch to Map view to see the exact location of each Treehouse.

     

    Searching for Treehouses using the map

     

    1. Go to BookaTreehouse.com
    2. Click on the continent that you are planning to visit.
    3. Click on the country that you are planning to visit.
    4. Now you will see a list of all the houseboats in that country.
    5. Click on the Map button to see the exact location of the Treehouse.
    6. Click on the pinpoints to see the detail page of a houseboat or use the +/- buttons to zoom in or zoom out.
  • How do I make an enquiry for a Treehouse?
    1. Find one or more Treehouses that you would like to stay.
    2. Contact the Owner using the enquiry form. It is required to fill out at least the following details: first name, last name, telephone number, email address, nr of guests, arrival and departure date. You are advised to share some information about who’s travelling in the comment box on the bottom of the enquiry form. Also you can ask any questions you may have.
    3. Once you have entered the details mentioned above, you will see the total price, and the price per sleep.
    4. Click on ‘Submit enquiry’. Now you will see a summary of your enquiry details. Please review the details and click edit if you wish to change the details. Always make sure your email address and telephone number, otherwise the owner won’t be able to contact you.
    5. Click ‘Confirm’ to send your enquiry to the owner of the Treehouse.
    6. The enquiry is now sent to the owner of the Treehouse that your interested in.

     

    We encourage to respond to enquiries as fast as possible. If you have not heard back from the Treehouse owner within 48 hours, it is advisable to enquiry for other Treehouses.

  • How do I pay for my TreeHouse rental?

    The payment, and the conditions of the payment, is something between the host and their guests. When you make a reservation the host will contact you and discuss the way of payment. Agreements are exclusively concluded between Owners providing the accomodations and Travellers renting the accommodations. Therefore BookaTreehouse.com itself is not a party to the rental agreement. 

  • What do I do if I do not receive a response to my enquiry?
    In case you don't hear back from the Treehouse owner withing 48 hours of making your enquiry, we advise to enquire on other Treehouses. We know it can be annoying if you don't get a response right away. Therefore we encourage the Treehouse owners who advertise their property on our website to respod within 24 - 48 hours. However, there is always a chance that an owner has not direct access to email and is therefore not able to respond to your enquiry.

    Things you can do:

    1. Check if your enquiry was indeed delivered to the owner of the Treehouse you're interested in. You can do this by checking if you received the confirmation email from 'Manager | BookaTreehouse'
    2. Emails from Treehouse owners might end up in your Junk/Spam folder, depending on your personal settings in your email account.
    3. To avoid emails from Treehouse owners end up in your Junk/Spam folder, adjust your email client's filter setting to allow incoming emails from "@BookaTreehouse.com". 
    4. Because Junk/Spam filter settings vary between email clients, we advise to follow the instructions for the specific email client you are using.
  • How do I ensure that my enquiries do not get lost in a spam filter?

    Emails from Treehouse owners might end up in your Junk/Spam folder, depending on your personal settings in your email account.

     

    1. To avoid emails from Treehouse owners ending up in your Junk/Spam folder, adjust your email client's filter setting to allow incoming emails from "@BookaTreehouse.com". 
    2. Because Junk/Spam filter settings vary between email clients, we advise to follow the instructions for the specific email client you are using.
  • Why have I not received my inquiry confirmation email?

    It may take up to 15 - 30 minutes for our system to send the automated confirmation to your email address. In case it takes longer for you to receive this confirmation email in your inbox, please do the following:

    1. Check the Junk/Spam folder in your email account for an enquiry confirmation email. 
    2. you might have entered the wrong email address in the enquiry form. In that case we advise to make another enquiry for this property, ensuring that you use the correct email address.
  • Why is my contact information appearing on all of the inquiry forms?

    When you fil out the enquiry form for a Treehouse, the enquiry form saves your contact details, dates and message to the Treehouse owner in order for you to submit other enquiries more easily. You can simply override these details by clicking into a field an start typing new information.

  • Can I change the number of guests once my booking is confirmed by the owner ?

    If you want to change the number of guests during your stay, please immediately get in touch with the owner of the Treehouse and share your wishes. It is up to owner if your wishes are granted, and on what conditions. Agreements are exclusively concluded between Owners providing the accomodations and Travellers renting the accommodations. Therefore BookaTreehouse.com itself is not a party to the rental agreement.

  • Can I change the dates once my booking is confirmed by the owner ?

    If you want to change the dates of your booking, please immediately get in touch with the owner of the Treehouse and share your wishes. It is up to owner if your wishes are granted, and on what conditions. Agreements are exclusively concluded between Owners providing the accomodations and Travellers renting the accommodations. Therefore BookaTreehouse.com itself is not a party to the rental agreement.

  • What can I do if the Treehouse is not as described?

    In the case that a Treehouse is differs significantly from the description in the listing, you should first contact the Treehouse owner and share your views with him/her. Often complaints can be solved right away if the owner is aware of the matter that you are concerned about.

     

    Another way of expressing your opinion about the property is to leave a review on the website. Reviews are a great way to share your opinion with future travelers and help them making the best choice when looking for a vacation rental.

  • How do I check in once I arrive at the property?

    Your host should always provide information about check in and check out procedures, directions to the property, keys and contact details. Always make sure you have the required details in good time before your stay. You, as a guest, should share correct contact details with your host. Please note that agreements are exclusively concluded between Owners providing the accomodations and Travellers renting the accommodations. Therefore BookaTreehouse.com itself is not a party to the rental agreement and can not be held responsible in case required details are not available to the guest and/or host.

FAQ for owners

  • How do I synchronize my calendar with Google Calendar and iCal?

    Sync your BookaTreehouse Calendar with Google Calendar and iCalendar (iCal)

    It is important that your calendar is up-to-date in order to avoid that you will receive enquiries for dates that your Treehouse is not available. To make sure your Treehouse Calendar is always up-to-date with other calendars that you might be using, we offer both Google Calendar and iCal synchronization. Please read below how this works.

     

    Import Google Calendar

    1. Click on 'Connect Google Calendar'
    2. Select the Google Account of the Google Calendar that you want to sync with (if you have multiple Treehouses listed on Bookatreehouse.com, this account will automatically be used to sync with)
    3. Use the drop down menu to select the Google Calendar that you want to sync with
    4. Choose the color related to the Treehouse as used in your Google Calendar
    5. Click 'Synchronize calendar'

     

    Stop and remove Google synchronization

    1. Click on 'Stop and remove synchronization' if you don't want to sync any longer with the selected Google Calendar. 
    2. The data that were imported from the selected Google Calendar will be removed. However, the Google Account is still connected to your listing and you can still select an event color to sync with.

     

    Disconnect Google Account

    1. Click 'Disconnect Google Account' if you want to stop, remove and disconnect the selected Google Account (for example if you want to connect with another Google Account). 
    2. The data that were imported from the selected Google Calendar will be removed. 
    3. This action affects the calendar of all the properties that you have listed on BookaTreehouse.com! 

     

    Import external iCalendar

    iCal is a file format that is used for creating and sharing electronic calendars. This calendar is used by many companies such as Airbnb, HomeAway and BookaTreehouse. You can simply import an iCalendar from another website that you might be using. This way you make sure your BookaTreehouse Calendar is always up to date and you will only receive enquiries for dates that your Treehouse is available.

    1. Log in to your account on BookaTreehouse.com
    2. Select the correct property and click on 'Edit calendar'
    3. Enter the url of the calendar you want to sync with
    4. Click 'Synchronise'. 
    5. From now on your BookaTreehouse Calendar will synchronise every hour.

     

    Detach external iCalendar

    1. Click on 'Detach' to stop synchronising with the selected iCalendar. 
    2. All details that were related to this iCal will be removed from your BookaTreehouse Calendar
